Reviews and Ratings
When I arrived at the hotel, I was excited about the great location next to the shopping center with plenty of options. However, the rooms were much tinier than expected and had a strong smoke smell when I opened the door. On the bright side, the air conditioner worked excellently, providing relief from the expected smoke odor.
The hotel had spacious rooms with good lighting, but the price and quality were not up to par, similar to a budget motel with inflated costs. The strong artificial air freshener attempt to mask smoke odors was overwhelming at times. The service was welcoming and accommodating, with staff willing to go the extra mile, especially with food items close to closing. The location was convenient to shopping areas and The Historic District, although finding the hotel was a challenge. The dining experience was decent, though some found the food not as fresh, and disposable utensils were used. Overall, the stay had its ups and downs.
My stay at the DoubleTree was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was convenient for my needs, with lots of shopping around, but being adjacent to a major highway meant enduring loud traffic sounds throughout the night. The service was top-notch, with friendly and accommodating staff, although the dining options were a bit lackluster with limited breakfast choices. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.
